Learn To Yoga

Learn To Meditate
The benefits of meditating are much lauded by those already undertaking daily or regular meditation. People have different reasons for wishing to meditate such as: halting the internal chatter, getting to know oneself better, finding calm, restful contemplation. Whatever your reason for wanting to meditate, it can be daunting to know how to begin and how to stay motivated. The Learn To meditate programme is perfect for you. Our expert guides you through a series of simple techniques which you can use daily at home.

Learn To Pilates
Pilates exercises help both men and women develop optimal strength, flexibility, endurance and posture, without building bulk or stressing joints, Pilates helps you tone your body, feel revitalised, and move with ease.
Pilates was pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, and is a mind-body exercise system designed to strengthen the weak and challenge the strong. The Pilates method focuses attention on core postural muscles that help keep the human body balanced and provide support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and of alignment of the spine, and strengthens the deep torso and abdominal muscles.
The Learn To Pilates programme will guide you through a series of simple exercises which you can practise on the floor at home daily, in your own time and in your own space.

Learn To Hike
If you can walk, hiking is easy. Hiking is simply going for a walk, but doing so in hills and pathways off the beaten track. It’s not really that much different than taking a walk anywhere else except that the surfaces you are walking on may be more uneven than the paved or flat surfaces you usually find in cities and towns.

Flower gardens can turn an ordinary area into a colourful showcase or create a border that pops. Whether you choose an easy to manage perennial or a particularly touchy annual, learning about plants and flowers is a wonderful pastime.
Selecting the right plants for your flower garden is often a matter of preference, but with so many species and varieties available it can be mind-boggling. Consider the following: hardiness, colour, fragrance, height, time of bloom and size of plant. Do you want to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, or song birds?

It is also imperative to think about your growing space. Is it in full sun? Partial shade? Is your soil well-drained?
On the Learn To Plants and Flowers the gardeners at the Park Hotel Kenmare will walk you through the hotels gardens and answer any queries you may have about your plants when you return home.

Learn To Swim
The art of swimming is a goal many crave for but few can find a location to master the basics in comfort. The 25mt Lap Pool at the Park Hotel Kenmare is specially designed for teaching and our Swimming Instructor is world class. One to one classes over a 2-3-day period on our Learn To programme will ensure you can enter the water with confidence, no matter what age you are. This has been proven again and again. A little assistance can change a lifetime of frustration. For the more advanced swimmer breathing technique is vital to swim effortlessly and with greatest effectiveness. The extensive experience of our instructor with Tri-Athlete’s and endurance swimmers can “tweak” your style to maximize your potential.
